This pre owned special 3 bath Microsolve 450/3M Mono Solvent system offers high precision cleaning with the ability to deal with heavy levels of contamination.

Microsolve MONO-SOLVENT three-stage systems provide ultrasonic immersed cleaning using HFE (hydrofluoroether) or HFC (hydrofluoro-carbon) solvents, followed by vapour rinsing and freeboard dry.

Current Status (October 2021)

The machine comes with a full complete manual and wiring diagrams. Basket dimensions are L 300MM X W 230MM x H 250MM. The solvent currently used is Novec HFE72 DE. The current process is lower the parts into the left hand ultrasonic tank for 60 seconds. After the 60 seconds the arm will rise up into the vapour and hold for another 60 seconds. They would then transfer the basket on to the right hand side. They would the lower the parts into the super heated vapour for 60 seconds. After this we would then lift the parts out of the super heated tank and hold at the cold seal for another 120 seconds before bringing the basket back to the surface to unload. 

Typical applications include bearings, gyro components and precision medical components; maintenance cleaning of pneumatic and hydraulic components; and, in electronics, flux removal from PCBs or from soldering jigs and fixtures.

With the addition still in this system large quantities of dirt and oils can be taken up by the solvating agent, making the process particularly suitable for heavy duty ultrasonic cleaning applications such as the removal of polishing compounds, maintenance cleaning of power generation system components, and flux removal from PCBs, including no-clean and lead-free solder flux residues.

Machine general layout

Tank 1

  • 1500watt Pulsatron ultrasonic immersion cleaning tank for the removal of gross contamination and dirt.
  • Also stage 1 is coupled to a solvent reservoir tank that has a safety fill connection that can automatically replenish the system from the PLC when a suitable barrel pump is connected to the supplied power supply. This facility will overflow tank 1 into tank 2 until the high level stitch is maintained.

Tank 2

  • Still unit to concentrate and trap the contamination from tank 1, generate the vapour phase blanket across all the stages of the machine and provide the level control and auto top-up of the system.

Tank 3

  • Provides a "Superheat feature" which enhances the the operation of the machine. This system incorporates a heated water header tank with auto-fill. The heated water is pumped out of the header tank and through the heated water jacket surrounding tank 3. This has the effect of that after vapour phase rinsing the basket is lowered into the hot air void of tank 3 and the remaining solvent is flashed off before exiting through the cooling zone and finally through the freeboard zone for unloading.

This system is further equipped with a single axis robotic handler (Autotrans SA)which controls the vertical placement of the basket with + or - 1mm at a controlled exit speed of 3m/min.

Automation of the ultrasonic cleaning process reduces running costs with both solvent and aqueous systems by assuring consistent, repeatable quality, reducing reject rates, and increasing throughput.

With Microsolve automated systems further cost reductions result from controlling speed of basket entry and withdrawal from the vapour zone, thus reducing solvent drag-out and losses to atmosphere caused by disturbance of the vapour blanket.
Features unique to Microsolve systems include:

  • Triple coil reflux cooling,
  • Automatic twin sliding seal lids,
  • Vapour break, 150% freeboard,
  • Solvent level monitoring with auto top-up

These enhanced feature ensure that the system is safe to use and fully compliant with environmental and safety legislation including the Solvent Emissions Directive (SED).

These design features also mean that the Microsolve system operate with low, predictable solvent usage and customers enjoy low, predictable running costs.
