100% Success for Our Direct For Site Team

Trelleborg 1

Our Direct From Site service is the choice for sellers to clear their surplus machinery. It is popular for multi-machine clearances, specialised & large plant sales or pre-selling equipment while waiting for replacements.
In this case, global manufacturer Trelleborg was restructuring their UK facilities resulting in 15 surface finishing machines becoming surplus to their plans.

Contacted by their site partner, Direct Mach, they opted to sell the machinery through our Direct From Site and joint venture services. Rileys achieved 100% success when we were able to sell all 15 machines within 2 months.

 

Phase 1 – 4x Airtech 2m³ Electric Ovens

Riley’s multi-channel approach enabled us to move these ovens to our warehouse and use our engineer led goods in procedures to add value for buyers. This optimised the return and saleability of this asset class for the seller.

Listed in one of the most visited sections on our website, the ovens would organically reach a wider audience. This selling method proved to be perfect for the ovens as within 1 week of going live, three of the ovens had sold.

The first two sold to a composite manufacturer in Oxford and the third soon went to a plastic manufacturer of polyurethane products in Yorkshire.
The final oven was sold a few weeks after to a manufacturer of high-quality composite components for the aerospace industry.

 

Phase 2 - 6x 4m/2m/2m Electric Ovens by RDM and Airflow

Given the physical size of these ovens, we kept them on site and ran a focused Direct From Site event. This kept costs low so the purchase price was as competitive as possible.

Used by Trelleborg for curing large moulds and batches, all the ovens had a minimum width of 4m, making them great for processes of that size requirement.

Two of the ovens were brought by a manufacturer of fendering and offshore protection, the large dimensions benefitting their production of large products such as polyurethane fenders to turbine windshields.
Also dealing with large parts, another oven was sold to a body repair business for repairing and repainting the components of car exteriors.

The remaining three ovens went to a specialist in metallic coatings, known for coating components of all sizes; the large size of the ovens resolving any size limitations for the heat treatment of components.

 

Phase 3 - 5x Outside Dust Extraction Units

These high-specification dust extraction units present logistical challenges due to their height and size especially given a busy site. For maximum flexibility we created a Direct From Site event to promote to our dust extraction audience.

This gave Trelleborg’s on-site team the flexibility to disconnect and move these extractors at the optimum time in their project plan with a backup plan of moving to Riley’s warehouse.

Solutions and options like this are often more valuable than just getting the best price.

As another ’best seller’ we were able to promote these as specialised extractors across Europe.

Summary

The machinery available through our Direct From Site service gives buyers and sellers more than just financial benefits. Flexibility, availability and logistics solutions all add value for everyone involved.

The volume of machines we were able to sell for Trelleborg is a great success for also for our team.

Our Direct From Site team create online profiles of each machine complete with descriptions and professional videos and photography. Followed up with targeted marketing to get the word this event proves our approach works.
