Description

A Siemens PLC control panel that is capable of controlling up to three Polaron Cortina Rectifiers, either in series or parallel. 

The panel allows the units to be grouped and controlled as a single unit at an output of up to 21,000 Amps whilst also monitoring external safety signals such as water flow, rectifier overload, and interlocked operator and machine safety signals. 

Cortina specialise in the manufacture of Variable voltage and current thyristor rectifiers, for anodising, welding and plating applications.

The Polaron Cortina is a primary SCR, single copper wound transformer, DC power supply that was originally employed for a plating/brightening anodizing application.

The Polaron Cortina rectifiers SCR diodes are water cooled allowing it to be used in warmer climes compared to the more traditional UK air cooled units.
