Automatic Alloy Wheel Blaster

The Riley Automatic Wheel Blaster has one purpose in mind - the quick and quality blasting of alloy wheels - and they do it very well.

These highly efficient and effective machines have a range of benefits over general shot blast cabinets that can make a significant difference to wheel refurbishment business including reduced staffing costs and high throughput (approx 3.5 minutes per wheel)

Simple, Automatic Wheel Blasting

  1. Load corroded wheel into jig guide (using wide opening access door)
  2. Choose a program (low, medium, high or custom) from the easy to use touch screen
  3. Wait a few minutes and unload
    Then repeat...

It really is that simple.

Reduced Operator Costs

These automatic blasters do not require an operator to stand and use a blast gun to blast and handle the wheel like a general shot blast cabinet. Of course this is an effective and flexible approach that many companies use with a Riley 1250 Pressure Shot Blast Cabinet or a Riley Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Wet Blast Range.

However, once loaded these automatic wheel blaster will manage the blasting itself and alert the operator once complete.

There is no need to unload, turn and reload the wheel half way through blasting, as the blaster automatically rotates the wheel.

Quality Finish

A consistent and quality finish is achieved by the unique design of the working chamber in the Riley Automatic Alloy Wheel Blaster. 

The work chamber has a jig that holds the wheel upright, is easy to load and caters for a range of wheel sizes.

The shot blast media is held in a media trough and blasted at the wheel using a paddle. This airless technology uses stainless steel shot to etch the surface of the wheel and prepare it for paint and finishing. This steel shot is long lasting for reduced operating costs.

To ensure consistent coverage deflector plates in the chamber direct the shot across the front and back wheel surfaces. The wheel is rotated throughout the blasting process, again to ensure good coverage.

Shot blast media falls back into the media trough and is cycled through the machine again.

Safe Operation

The ensure safe operation these Automatic Alloy Wheel Blasters are packed with safety features including:

  • Loading and unloading is via an oversized and reinforced door with interlocking door switches to ensure the door stays closed until it is safe to open the machine.
  • Clear and obvious beacons show all operators in the area when the machine is running.
  • Emergency Stop
  • A quiet machine, only 82db when running

Dust Extraction

Dust extraction is critical for a safe working environment and this machine is matched with an effective dust extractor.

Once a cycle stops the machine keeps the door locked until the dust extraction system has filtered the chamber through multi-pocket filter bags. 

Helpful design features are included like easy change filter features and the fact the dust extractor is free standing for flexible footprint management

Built to Last

These cabinets are made in Great Britain to high standards by engineers who work in the industry and understand the day-to-day needs and the working demands of the wheel blasting industry.

The cabinet is built using 4mm high grade mild steel with an outer shell of 4mm sheet steel and includes a 2 year warranty. The construction is regularly reinforced with box and flat section. For durability and and performance the whole machine is powder coated.

Within the chamber a full rubber lining and Hardox wear plates protect the cabinet from the shot blast media to ensure a great working life.

Simple and Flexible Controls

A easy-to-use control panel allow the operator to set the process speed for the front and rear of the wheel and monitor performance.

The standard controls can be upgraded to touchscreen controls. This easy-to-use digital set up gives the operator control over four pre-set programs for Low, Medium and High processes to match the corrosion levels of the wheel that needs blasting. A fourth program can be customised with time parameters and whether the face and/or back of the wheel are blasted.
