Description
ATEX Rated Auto M-Z90 Baghouse dust collectors with shaker cleaning (no starter) is designed for intermittent use and suitable for various applications that generate light to medium volumes of dry dust. ATEX rated explosion relief panels and up-scoops feature for each of the three chambers.
The Nederman/Dantherm Auto M-Z series is the latest generation of robust simple mechanically cleaned baghouse dust collectors suitable for non-continuous duty for industrial, commercial and educational locations.
The Auto M-Z series is a robust, free standing filter range with an automatic shaker cleaning system. It is the latest model based upon over thirty years of continuous production experience. It is designed for intermittent use, where the filter can occasionally stop for cleaning off.
Advantages
- All access for maintenance from the front of the unit.
- Dust bin with quick release mechanism.
- Compressed air not required.
- Efficient 11kW / 15 Hp fan motor.
- Electric motor driven shaker mechanism.
- Neat appearance suitable for commercial and educational applications.
- Weather proof for location anywhere.
Function
The air polluted with dust is sucked in by the fan which flows through the inlet duct and falls into the dust collector chamber.
The deflector placed in the hopper disperses the stream of dusty air and slows down the speed of its flow, thanks to which large, heavy dust particles fall directly into the hopper. Separated dust moves from the hopper to the container located in the lower part of the device. The deflector also protects the filter bags from mechanical damage due to direct impacts with larger dust particles.
The partially cleaned air passes through the filtering material of the bags and the remaining, lighter dust particles settle on their inner walls. The dust-free air flows outside the dust collector; it is returned to the atmosphere.
Over time, conglomerates of the filtration product accumulate inside the bags. As a result of the action of gravity, these conglomerates detach from the surface of the filter material and fall into the container. The bag cleaning process can be supported by activating the shaker mechanism causing vibrations of the bags suspended on the movable frame
It is recommended to perform this operation at least once every shift (8 hours of dust collector operation) after the main fan is stopped. The shaker motor should be turned on for no more than 20 seconds. Typically around 10 seconds of switching on is sufficient.
Features
- Automatic mechanical shaker filter.
- 3 separate explosion relief panels with up-scoops.
- Inlet size: 300mm x 750mm.
- Weatherproof.
- Integral direct drive fan (11kW // 15Hp).
- Dust hopper with 75 litre storage buckets per module, and bin balancing pipes.
- Secondary filter / silencer 1320mm x 800mm x 1450mm : 120kg
Typical Industry Applications - ATEX Certified
- Metalwork, grinding, fettling, sanding, polishing.
- Woodwork, dust extraction from small and medium workshops.
- Bulk powders, chemicals, sack tipping, weighing, bagging.
- Educational workshops - ceramics, metal work, crafts and woodwork.
Dust Collectors that use motorized shaker cleaning are used when the application is practical to shut down the dust collector during the cleaning cycle. During cleaning the motorized shaker shakes the bags at high speed to remove the dust from the bags.
Importance of Dust Extractors
Dust in the workplace can affect product quality and employee´s health. Having a dust-free environment is essential to the health and safety of the workforce. Not only does it affect the health of employees but the dust covers the equipment affecting production processes and quality of the products.
Capturing the dust at the source prevents it from spreading, done by using a dust extractor system to facilitate the important housekeeping to avoid it from accumulating.
What are Shaker Dust Collectors?
Shaker Dust Collectors contain a number of woven bags, which are fixed onto rails and use their surface area to capture dust as it is drawn through the extraction unit by its fan.
Bags are periodically cleaned by rapidly shaking the bags through a shaker motor and linkage system which removes the filtered dust from the bags and into a collection bin.
These units are commonly used in foundries, steel mills, the mining industry, power plants, and smelting industries.
How do Dust Extractors Work?
Dust collection systems work in a variety of different ways but all have general principles in common. They draw process dust and particulates from the air through a filter that first captures and separates the matter, and then discharges decontaminated air back into the workplace or environment.
Dust extractors are used in many different and varied industries and so different demands are made of them; however all have common components such as a blower (or fan), dust filter, filter cleaning system, dust container and dust removal system.
Five common types of dust collection equipment are fabric filter baghouses, inertial separators (like mechanical cyclones), cartridge collectors, wet scrubbers, and electrostatic precipitators.
