Description
The furnace design comprises a cylindrical metal case mounted on four legs with an internal lining of semi-refractory and insulated brickwork. The heating elements are nickel - chromium tubular elements supported on brackets which are mounted to the brickwork. A motor driven centrifugal fan forces air up through the heating elements and down through the charge, thus transferring the heat to the charge.
The top of the furnace is closed by an insulated door mounted on a pivot, which allows the door to swing to one side for access. A new electrical control panel controls the temperature, time and operation of the furnace.
Applications
- Ideal for heat treatments in a tool room environment.
- Can be used for heat treatment processes in a production facility.
- Small footprint so it can be sited in smaller workshops.

Common Heat Treatments That Use Industrial Ovens & Furnaces
Heat treatment is a controlled process of heating and cooling materials in order to improve its properties, performance, and strength typically made up of three main steps. Firstly heating the metal to a specific temperature, soaking or maintaining the specific temperature for a certain amount of time, and cooling to a suitable rate following prescribed methods.
There are seven main techniques used for the heat treatment of materials, and all affect material in different way. These techniques are:
- Normalising
- Annealing
- Tempering
- Hardening
- Ageing
- Stress Relieving
- Carburisation
