Description

The Ventus  150P pressure fed air blast cabinet from Wheelabrator has been designed specifically for production applications where high work output is required, combined with optimum abrasive quality.

Manufactured in 1999 and refurbished in 2020 to include a Mitsubishi E1100 HMi operator interface panel to enable accurate control of a dual axis blast gun via a  vertical and horizontal axis servo drive.

In this specialised blast cabinet, the blast nozzle is operated automatically in both the vertical and horizontal axis and can be used with all dry and free running abrasives available on the market today. 

The Wheelabrator Ventus 150P is a large capacity pressure blast cabinet with an inverter driven, variable speed rotary table, separate 60 litre blast generator pressure pot and reclamation cleansing unit, controlled from within the control cabinet. This machine has high performance levels and has been designed and built for the aerospace industry.

The machine has a horizontal axis transfer length of 11280mm max and a vertical travel length of 1240mm max and is set using rail mounted limit switches. There are three switches on each axis. One on each side of travel and one as a park sensor and are easily positioned during set up.

For ease of programming there is a teach pendant located at the front of the machine, which enables accurate and easy set up procedures.

This machine can also be run in manual mode, having rubber gauntlets for operator access to the internal of the cabinet and are located by a removable cover at the front of the machine.

An IBCO valve is located in the rear of the cabin to facilitate a blast hose/gun arrangement when required.

Former Radius Aerospace

This plant is one of several machines acquired during Radius Aerospace's reorganisation of their manufacturing facility at Shrewsbury, UK.
Their worldwide reputation for quality is reflected in the machinery and maintenance of their manufacturing plant.
Many of these machines include features that are necessary for the manufacture of aircraft engines and industrial gas turbines,
but can provide a benefit to any industry.

 

Cleaning rates are up to 5 times the speed of a Suction Venturi cabinet and are suitable for use with a wide range of abrasives such as steel shot, aluminium oxide, glass bead, walnut shell, etc.

Pressure feed machines are commonly used in high production environments or on applications such as peening, surface coatings removal, surface preparation and general cleaning.

Working pressure of 12 bar, volume of 60 Litres. 

Extractor - Attached to Blast Generator and Reclamation Cleansing Unit

The blast media is drawn through the base hopper and passed through a cyclonic separator were the amount of waste separation can be controlled by the setting of the air wash eductor. The air wash is set to retain the reusable media and reject the undersized and waste dust to the dust collector. 

The reusable media passes from the cyclone separator over a separator before dropping onto a vibrating debris screen which removes any over sized particles & debris from the process. 

Located at the bottom of the storage hopper is the 60 litre pressure vessel which stores the blast media ready for use.

Specification

  • The cabinet has a 1230mm x 1000mm approx.  (Max opening TBC) door fitted to the right hand side of the machine. The door on this range of machines offers an effective seal to the chamber for a leak free operation.
  • Programmable controller. Programmable up to 9 steps in both horizontal and vertical movements.
