Description

The Lean Jet RB-2 rotary basket parts washer is an extremely versatile machine. Parts are typically loaded into baskets and then placed in the rotating carriage which holds one large basket or two stackable baskets. The carriage (with the baskets) then rotates in the process chamber while being sprayed with the process fluid. This continues through each process until the final dry cycle.

The machine has options for up to four holding tanks, ultrasonics, a fresh line rinse and a heated dryer. Each holding tank can hold either detergent, fresh water, or rust inhibitor. It can then be programmed by the operator to use the fluid from any tank in any order. Also, each wash operation can be configured for immersion wash, open air spray wash or ultrasonic wash. The machine can use any option with up to 27 steps.

The first stage of the cycle is the wash stage. Each stage begins by filling the process chamber with wash solution until the parts are submerged. As the tank is filling, spray nozzles located on the outside of the part baskets and in the centre of the parts basket spray the parts down with 100% filtered fluid to remove any debris that may be on the part. The spray process continues when the Process Chamber is full by spraying the parts under the fluid. The submerged spraying continues for the pre-programmed wash time until the dump valves open to drain the process chamber back to the holding tank. This process of filling, spraying, and dumping continues for each of the wash/rinse stages programmed.

Once the wash process has been completed and the solution has been dumped from the tank, the rinse stage begins. This stage uses clean heated water to rinse the parts and remove any of the chemical and remaining debris from the part. This stage will typically not fill the tank but the fluid will run back to the final rinse although immersion wash is available.

The final stage is the blow-off stage. After the rinse water has been drained, the machine will start the blow-off fan. Same as the last two stages, the parts are rotated while the blow-off system is running. The air is typically heated to about 220ºF to assist in the evaporation of liquid from the part. The rotation of the parts will aid in even drying.

Control

The machine is controlled by the latest in PLC technology. The HMI controller is a Siemens KTP1000 colour touch screen monitor that allows the operator to set up and select the program, see the parameters of the current cycle and monitor the progress. The Siemens S7-1200 PLC monitors all aspects of the cycle such as time, temperature, and pressure to assure that the parts will come out the cleanest possible every time.

A 7 day timer allows the machine to 'warm up' so it is ready for use at the start of a shift.
