Description

A large pressure fed shot blasting cabinet from the highly regarded manufacturer Guyson International. Including 27 litre pressure pot media delivery vessel (cyclone feed) with dust collector.

Costing £30k new, this high spec blast cabinet can offer you manual bead blasting for a faster alternative to labour intensive operations such as hand such as hand deburring, scraping and wire brushing, chemical cleaning, acid etching or dipping, liquid honing, knife trimming, sanding, grinding and many others.

The Guyson Euroblast range of cabinets are highly durable, rigid and tightly sealed, fabricated and welded in 16 gauge sheet steel and finished to the highest quality standards. Leading the industry, with exceptional component entry facilities and sleeved armholes which provide safe and comfortable operator access.

It is ideal for component producers, re-conditioners and re-manufacturers seeking to replace these slower and more labour intensive methods.

Guyson blast finishing uses compressed air to propel blast media directly at the component through an exclusively designed blast gun.

These clean and safe operations are housed in an illuminated cabinet from which dust is constantly removed and the blast media recycled to provide continuous and reliable cleaning and finishing system.

Guyson bead blast installations can use a wide selection of blast media at alternative pressures low enough to blast delicate parts and high enough to handle the most demanding cleaning and finishing operations.

Pressure Feed Cabinets

Designed for speed, giving faster cleaning times (up to four times faster than venturi systems) to meet higher production requirements.

Dust Collectors, Pressure Pots and Cyclones

Complete with a Guyson dust collector that has been designed and developed to match the operational and environmental requirements of the system. Cabinet size, air input through the blast gun, the application and whether the cabinet usage is intermittent, regular or continuous are all factors in choosing the correct dust collector.

Using the correctly matched dust collector it provides the system with good visibility in the blast chamber and a clean operating environment in the workshop. The extracted airflow drawn by the dust collector is carefully balanced with the media, reclamator and the cabinet to ensure that a minimum of reusable blast media is removed.

The larger capacity pressure vessel with integrated cyclone minimises refill time and increases blast duration.

The cyclone separates lighter spent media from heavier reusable media which is recirculated for improved blasting efficiency and visibility inside the cabinet.

The Guyson 10 is recommended for manual treatment of large surface areas, removal of tough coatings and surface deposits, or whenever high productivity must be achieved.

Features to Consider for a Blasting Cabinet

  • Cubic Force per Minute (CFM) - The power the air/water/media can be shot at.
  • Dust Collection - For blasting for prolonged times lengths or dust-producing materials the dust would need to be controlled.
  • Cabinet Construction - All cabinets need to be sturdy but for high-pressure shot blasting the construction needs to be secure.
  • Type of Cabinet - Options include suction, pressure & water blast cabinets.
  • Functional Design & View - Would the operation be able to use the cabinet and see through the window?
  • Media - What purpose do you need to shot blast as different media can achieve different finishes.
  • Accessories for Blast Cabinet - Is the cabinet sellf contained or does it required additional control, extraction and cyclone units.

What is Shot Blasting?

Shot Blasting can be used as a catch all term for a wide range of similar industrial processes. It is also called abrasive cleaning or abrasive surface finishing. During the shot blasting process a media material is fired at an object to remove remove burrs, flashing, paint, scale or rust and clean and smooth (or sometimes intentionally roughen) the surface.

There are several mechanical methods used to propel the media material including using compressed air or water streams, or airless methods such as wheel blasting.

The media used also differs depending on the results needed but the catch all term is shot, hence shot blasting. The shape, size and weight of the media will determine the outcome. Frequently a metal shot is used including steel grit, copper shots, and aluminum pellets. Some methods of shot blasting use silica sand (sand blasting - not in some countries due to health risks), glass beads (bead blasting), sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) or crushed nuts shells or kernels.
