Description

This JLS 550°C, electric, front loading, rapid quench oven is a forced convection type oven with re-circulating air. With a calibrated work area of 1100mm x 2300mm x 1100mm, this NADCAP & AMS2750D (± 6°C) standard oven was previously used for annealing components to an aerospace specification.

Features

  • Roller track loading system (WxDxH): External dimensions 2000mm x 2000mm x 2450mm
  • Stainless steel quench tank located in pit at front of oven including below roller track (WxDxH):  1720mm x 1720mm x 1200mm (with pneumatic raise lower system)
  • Eurotherm multi-channel recorder.
  • Calibrated work area of 1100mm x 2300mm x 1100mm, perfect for aerospace use.
  • Oven and loading roller track could be raised up on stands to enable the quench tank to be mounted on factory floor level to avoid the need for a pit

Construction

  • Framework: Rolled steel sectional material
  • Outer case: 2.0mm mild steel plate 
  • Inner Case: 2.0mm mild steel plate with stainless steel in the vicinity of the elements
  • Insulation: 150mm mineral wool
  • Stand: A mild steel sectional stand would be included to raise oven floor to a height of 900mm

Additional Specification

  • Doors: The front of the structure only would be fitted with one fully insulated, motorised, counterbalanced, uprising door, nominally 1100mm x 1100mm. A limit switch would be fitted to isolate the heating elements at all times whilst a door is open.
  • Fan: 1 x 760mm fan would be provided, belt­ driven by a 4kW motor. Fan capacity nominally 312m3/min
  • Air Flow: Horizontally through work chamber
  • Heat ElementsThe structure is fitted with 54 x 1500 Watt sheathed heating elements.
  • Elements Control: One Caledon Controls SRC2000 series two-leg thyristor stack, rated at 125 amps
  • FinishInternal heat resisting aluminium paint & external hammer finish blue paint.
  • Ventilation: Hand controlled fresh air inlet and volatiles outlet would be fitted.
  • Temperature Control Equipment: A Eurotherm 3508 digital PIO programmable temperature controller would be provided.
  • Unit stores a maximum of 10 programs of 500 segments each. Unit incorporates Modbus comms for communication with Recorder.
  • Temperature OverrideA separate Eurotherm 3216i instrument would be wired into independent safety circuitry to close the unit down in the event of failure of the main temperature controller or thyristor.
  • Temperature Recorder: Eurotherm 61OOA 100mm 6 Channel Paperless Graphic Recorder with digital display. Unit records output from Eurotherm 3508 unit via Modbus comms. An Ethernet port and PC software is included for remote monitoring and auditing.
  • Thermocouples: Separate stainless steel sheathed type N thermocouples would be provided, for control & override.
  • Calibration: Instrumentation and thermocouples should be calibrated at 130°C, 330°C & 505°C.

A steel oven-mounted cabinet would be supplied to accommodate the following:

  • Programmable temperature controller
  • Temperature overrider
  • Temperature recorder
  • Fan motor starter
  • Element thyristor
  • Safety contactor
  • Mains isolator
  • Push-Buttons for door operation
  • Signal lamps for fan running, over­ temperature condition and mains on

Panel Wiring

All electrical equipment within the panel is fully wired to marked terminals.

Oven Wiring

All electrical equipment on oven structure is wired complete to the control panel.

Foundations

A firm and level floor is required.

This oven is CE marked and comply with the Health and Safety Machinery Directives 89/392/EEC, 91/368/EEC and 93/44/EEC. It is designed in accordance with following standards:
