Description

Sold to a customer before general market release.

A multi stage Kerry Passivation line consisting of Cleaning, Immersing, Ultrasonics, Rinsing and drying stages.

Passivation is a widely used metal finishing process to prevent corrosion in stainless steel, the passivation process uses nitric acid or citric acid to remove free iron from the surface, the chemical treatment leads to a protective oxide layer that is less likely to chemically react with air and cause corrosion

Steps in a passivation line

  1. Clean: Remove contaminants, oils, and foreign materials
  2. Immerse: Submerge the material in an acid bath to dissolve free irons and sulfides
  3. Rinse: Rinse the material with water
  4. Dry: Dry the material
  5. Test: Test the material to ensure it meets specification standards

Nitric acid: A common passivation solution, but it can be hazardous to work with.
